Frontliner: We Identify, Aggregate – and Educate

Frontliners is a weekly series of snippets and inspiration derived from our interactions with customers and prospects in hyperlocal digital advertising and publishing.
Recently, while organizing a hyperlocal media plan for a travel advertiser seeking to reach deeply into the communities surrounding each of their points of departure, we identified a handful of hyperlocal blogs with highly-engaged audiences yet no formalized display advertising models. These are websites that were a perfect match for the advertiser, yet would not have even appeared on the radar of any non-direct or cookie-based or data-driven media plan.
Because our business is built upon aggregating these long-tail, hyperlocal publishers and streamlining direct display ad placement with them, we spent extra time working with each of the publishers to help them get our advertiser’s creative successfully up and running on their websites.
It was a win all the way around: the publisher was able to earn incremental advertising revenue, the advertiser was able to put their message in front of exactly the local residents they wanted to reach, and we were able to facilitate the connection, ensuring long-term business relationships with both of them!
