A big LYM ShoutOut to The Hartford Guardian – Hartford’s first hyperlocal news product in Hartford, Connecticut!  Founded in January 2004, The Hartford Guardian’s mission is to tap into civic life and publish a news magazine that explores topics from a progressive perspective. The online daily edition ( was launched in August 2008 to satisfy their customers’ demand for increased frequency. The online edition is published five days per week.

A few things that set The Hartford apart from other sites include its diversity – the site truly reflects the diversity of Hartford, CT (including race, ethnicity, languages, and religions).  It’s coverage is also as hyperlocal as local gets, with stories covering each neighborhood in this 18-mile wide city.  All of this content is neatly packaged into an easy to navigate website updated regularly.
